Estonian police arrested 20 drunk drivers on December 5, 2022, at 06:22. A breathalyzer test revealed that one driver was under the influence of drugs and 19 had consumed alcohol. The drivers were found to have exceeded the legal blood alcohol content limit, which ranges from 0.2 to 1.49 per mil.

According to traffic law, individuals consuming alcohol above this limit can face a traffic offense with a fine of up to 1,200 euros, detention for up to 30 days, or revocation of driving rights for up to one year. In cases of drug influence or exceeding a blood alcohol content of 1.5 per mil, drivers may face criminal charges including fines of up to 300 euros or imprisonment for up to three years, alongside potential vehicle confiscation.
