Russia has recorded 22,041 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the operational headquarters’ report released on Saturday. A total of 822 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were also reported. The number of coronavirus infections in Russia has been rising for the second consecutive week, reaching the highest level since mid-August. Epidemiologists attribute this increase primarily to seasonal factors. Regional data indicates 3,211 new cases in Moscow, with 63 deaths, and 1,907 new cases in St. Petersburg, along with 50 deaths. As of Saturday, Russia has recorded a cumulative total of 7,398,415 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The death toll from Covid-19 stands at 203,095. A total of 6,590,933 individuals have recovered from the disease.
